Doggie Biscuits – Wheat Free

Bake wheat free dog biscuits for your best friend. These can be stored in an airtight container or frozen.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 1 cup rye flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup of milk

Mix the oatmeal, 3/4 cup of rye flour, sugar and butter together in a bowl. Add the milk slowly until the ingredients form a firm and sticky dough. Tip the mix onto a floured surface and knead in the remaining rye flour. The dough should become stiff. Put the dough into a plastic bag or wrap in film and put into the fridge for an hour.

Cooking Instructions

Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees, grease and line baking tins with baking parchment. Roll out your dough to desired thickness and cut into cookies, squares or shapes. Bake for 15 minutes, but check after 10 if you have rolled your dough to make thin cookies. The dog biscuits are soft upon coming out of the oven so allow to cool in the tins on the parchment for 10 mins or so and then transfer to racks to completely cool before storing in an air tight container, or freezing.
