Hearty Lamb & Rice with Rosemary

A winter warming treat for your dog. Please be aware that if your dog is eplieptic that rosemary can be a trigger for seizures, if you are worried just go ahead and leave it out.

Ingredients

500 g Minced Lamb (you can also use cubed lamb)

2 cups of brown rice

2 carrots, diced

2 potatoes, cubed

1/2 cup frozen peas

1 fresh Rosemary sprig (or tsp of dried rosemary) (Leave out if your dog is prone to seizures)

3/4 pint water

Preparation and Cooking

Brown off the minced (or diced) lamb in a large pot. Add the cubed carrots and potato in to sweat for a few minutes. Pour the pint of water in to the pan and add the frozen peas, rosemary and the rice. Cover and allow to simmer for 35-40 minutes, until the rice is soft and cooked through. Uncover and allow to reduce if the rice has not soaked up sufficient water. Don’t worry if the peas go mushy – your dog will still love it! Freezes down well.
